Maternity and Fertility

I am fully trained to specialise in Reflexology for Maternity and Fertility.

Reflexology for Fertility

Reflexology is becoming more widely know for playing a supportive role in fertility. Not only is it proven to relax, it also improves circulation and balances hormones.

A reflexology treatment to support fetrility will focus on key reflexes on the feet, working with the endocrine system to help overall balance.

  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Helps relax
  • Improves mood
  • Aids sleep
  • Helps relieve tension
  • Improves sense of wellbeing

Bringing the body into a state of balance, the systems of the body can work at their optimum and function effectively, enhancing the chances of conceiving.

Reflexology for Maternity

As a qualified maternity reflexologist I am able to work with you safely and effectively throughout the duration of the pregnancy adapting each session depending on which trimester you are in, and any symptoms you may have. Specifically beneficial to work the endocrine system with an endocrine balance, lymphatic drainage and pelvic girdle pain. As well as other symptoms which may occur throughout pregnancy such as heart burn, back pain, dizziness and nausea.

Some women choose to come throughout the whole of their pregnancy, whilst others just choose reflexology in the last trimester to help prepare for the birth. Studies have shown that reflexology can be successful in reducing the length of the first stage of labour,  reducing pain in labour and improving sleep after the birth.

Quite often women contact me for an appointment when they are already over due, hoping that it will help to induce the baby, whilst there is some anecdotal evidence this is not proven to be true, however if the baby is ready then using techniques to relax, and stimulating the pituitary gland so that it releases oxytocin, may have a positive affect. However it is highly recommended to have at least two reflexology prior to this in order to prepare the body for what is about to happen.
